Christmas at Uppermoor Farm or The Lighthouse Barn

The Peak District has so much to offer in the run up to Christmas. Nearby towns of Ashbourne, Bakewell and Buxton all host Christmas markets and there are lots of boutique shops too in which to find that different or special present. Chatsworth House is amazing at anytime of the year but their Christmas decorations are simply fantastic and afterwards you can listen to the carol singers, whilst keeping in the festive spirit sharing a glass of mulled wine.

Uppermoor Farm and The Lighthouse Barn are always tastefully dressed for Christmas from 1st December onwards with locally grown real trees, twinkling tree lights, and large red poinsettias, as a backdrop to the roaring log fire that awaits your ‘warmest of welcomes’. There are complimentary warm mince pies with a jug of brandy cream and spicy mulled wine that awaits your arrival.

Weekend breaks are available throughout the whole of December until Christmas week itself which then becomes a seven night stay. Previous guests have often stayed with us throughout December to celebrate an early Christmas get-together, or a works party. Of course spending a Christmas week at Uppermoor Farm becomes very special ~ being able to share with a large family and loved ones “a home away from home” to enjoy the traditional turkey and Christmas pudding around a huge table large enough to seat 24 comfortably.

What better to walk off all that over indulgence than a scenic stroll starting from your very own front door across some breathtakingly beautiful Peak District countryside. Looking forward to returning again to the wonderful warmth of Uppermoor Farm Aga or nestling down into the deep seated sofas gazing at the dancing flames behind the wonderful double sided log burner.

Around and about you will find:

  • Christmas at Chatsworth House – A Candle light Christmas
  • Carol Singing in the caves in Castleton – Treak Cliff Cavern and Peak Cavern.
  • Pantomime and carol concerts in local theatres at Buxton or Chesterfield.
  • Santa Specials at Crich Tramway Village or Peak Rail, Matlock.
