Edward & Jan Hammond purchased Uppermoor Farm in 2008, at this time a very run down dairy farm with a 3 bedroom Cottage Farmhouse and tumbling down stone out buildings consisting of dairy sheds and calf/goat pens. Extensive renovations began in 2009 to extend the stone outbuildings into the main Farmhouse and the calf/goat pens into The Coach House Barn. We joined the holiday let industry in May 2010 offering large group accommodation to sleep 24.
Returning from their grain farm in Canada in 2013 they decided it was time to think about the two former old dairy buildings that were tumbling down and in June 2015 building works commenced on The Lighthouse Barn and its conversion into a beautiful large holiday barn/events venue. This was finally completed in the summer of 2016.
